Pilbara Minerals is currently recruiting an experienced and dedicated Field Technician (Geology & Exploration) to join the team in Pilgangoora, Pilbara, WA, Australia. Operating on a 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, this role reports directly to the Senior Field Technician and is responsible for delivering high-standard operational deliverables that underpin safe, continuous production.

Based at the world-class Pilgangoora lithium operation—the largest independent hard-rock lithium deposit globally—you will be an essential contributor to fixed plant reliability, mobile equipment availability, and metallurgical processing excellence powering the international battery and electric vehicle markets.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Exploration Drill Rig Support: Interact with Exploration Team on a daily basis to ensure that daily work activities are fully planned, coordinated and accurate;.
• Diamond Core Handling & Photography: Assist exploration geologists with all administrative tasks such as pre-starts, vehicle checks, health and safety reporting;.
• RC Chip Logging & Sampling: Supervise drill site pad preparation and access to exploration areas within both mine site and regional areas;.
• Specific Gravity & Density Testing: Collect, package, record and dispatch samples from RC and diamond drilling programs;.
• Sample Dispatch Logistics: Complete all tasks associated with the diamond drilling core processing workflow including but not limited to core mark-up, core presentation, geotechnical measurements, cutting and sampling, core photography and XRF measurements;.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Pilbara Minerals, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Relevant Field Operations Certificate / Valid Australian Driver Licence
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 2 – 4 Years of verified operational mining or industrial experience in Australia.
• Field Operations Experience: Current manual West Australian driver’s license.
• Manual Driving & 4WD Ticket: Strong commitment to safety.
• Data Accuracy & Core Logging: Demonstrated ability to record and process data.
• Remote Field Fitness: Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Police & Medical Clearances: Ability to supervise and mentor junior field assistants.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$120,000 – AU$145,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%). (Salary structure is not officially stated by the employer; this represents the general industry standard for this position in Western Australia.)
