Pilbara Minerals is currently recruiting an experienced and dedicated Ancillary Operator to join the team in Pilgangoora, Pilbara, WA, Australia. Operating on a 8:6, 7:7 (Days & Nights) FIFO from Perth, this role reports directly to the Mining Supervisor and is responsible for delivering high-standard operational deliverables that underpin safe, continuous production.

Based at the world-class Pilgangoora lithium operation—the largest independent hard-rock lithium deposit globally—you will be an essential contributor to fixed plant reliability, mobile equipment availability, and metallurgical processing excellence powering the international battery and electric vehicle markets.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Haul Road Maintenance: Operating heavy surface mining equipment, primarily CAT D10 Track Dozers, in a hard rock mining production environment.
• Waste Dump & Pad Management: Effectively and efficiently maintaining pit floors and tip heads.
• Pit Dewatering Support: Conducting pre-start safety checks on mobile mining equipment.
• Equipment Pre-Start Inspections: Reporting any hazards and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Mine Safety & Radio Coordination: Working in a collaborative manner with a can-do attitude, following industry best practices.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Pilbara Minerals, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver Licence & Mobile Mining Plant Competencies
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 2 – 4 Years of verified operational mining or industrial experience in Australia.
• Licensing & Driving: Experience operating large Mobile Mining Equipment, specifically CAT D10/D11 Track Dozers, in a hard rock production mining environment.
• Plant Operations Competency: Experience operating Wheel Loaders (CAT 980/988/992/993), Graders (CAT 16/18/24M, and Trucks (CAT 785/789/793).
• Open-Pit Mining Experience: Experience with mining production Excavators (or the desire to learn and upskill) highly regarded.
• Hazard Identification & JHA: A flexible approach to work, including operating other mobile machinery.
• Mining Medical Clearance: A strong focus on safety and best practices within the mining industry.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$125,000 – AU$145,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%). (Salary structure is not officially stated by the employer; this represents the general industry standard for this position in Western Australia.)
