Lead statutory environmental compliance, progressive land rehabilitation, and ecological monitoring for onshore gas and energy production assets at Santos.

Santos is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance & Rehabilitation Superintendent to join our Health, Safety & Environment division in Adelaide. Supporting Cooper Basin and onshore development assets, you will manage statutory environmental approvals, liaise with state regulators (EPA, DEM), lead progressive soil and vegetation rehabilitation programs, and oversee environmental impact statements.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Ensure operational: Ensure operational compliance with environmental protection acts, resource development licenses, and EPBC approvals.
• Design and: Design and oversee progressive land rehabilitation, topsoil management, and native seeding programs across disturbed sites.
• Manage environmental: Manage environmental monitoring programs covering surface water, groundwater aquifers, air quality, and fugitive emissions.
• Coordinate environmental: Coordinate environmental incidents investigations, regulatory notifications, and external compliance audits.
• Collaborate with: Collaborate with traditional owner groups and pastoral leaseholders on cultural heritage and ecological preservation.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Santos, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or Natural Resource Management.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 6+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 6+ years of environmental management experience within the resources, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Australian state and federal environmental regulatory legislation.
• Experience managing large-scale ecological rehabilitation or contaminated land remediation programs.
• Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or Environmental Engineering.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$150,000 – AU$180,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Package $150,000 – $180,000 + company performance incentive + superannuation.
• Central 60 Flinders Street Adelaide office with occasional regional field travel.
