Superintend high-tonnage open-pit production operations utilizing world-class autonomous haulage truck fleets in the Pilbara.

Fortescue is seeking a seasoned Senior Mine Production Superintendent on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth to Cloudbreak Mine. In this pivotal operational leadership role, you will command daily load-and-haul operations, autonomous fleet dispatch, and safety performance across one of Australia’s largest open-pit iron ore assets.

As a key member of the team at Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) in Pilbara, WA, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Lead daily: Lead daily shift operations, digger productivity, and autonomous haulage truck fleet dispatch.
• Execute the: Execute the 24-hour and weekly mine production plan meeting grade and tonnage targets.
• Ensure statutory: Ensure statutory mining compliance under the WA Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations.
• Coordinate drill: Coordinate drill and blast handover, pit dewatering, and haul road maintenance.
• Champion frontline: Champion frontline safety, psychological safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Fortescue Metals Group (FMG), candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Mining Engineering or WA First Class Mine Manager Certificate.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent practical statutory mining leadership certification.
• Hold a valid WA First Class or Quarry Manager’s Certificate of Competency.
• 7+ years open-pit mining operations experience with proven exposure to Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS).
• Demonstrated leadership managing large, diverse frontline shift crews.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$200,000 – AU$250,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Premier remuneration $200,000 – $250,000 + 11.5% super + site allowances + Fortescue bonus.
• 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth.
