Iluka Resources is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to lead groundwater stewardship across our South Australian and Western Australian mining and rare earth processing assets. Based in Adelaide, you will direct numerical groundwater modeling (MODFLOW/FEFLOW), managed aquifer recharge (MAR), and water licensing.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Develop and: Develop and calibrate numerical groundwater flow and solute transport models using MODFLOW and FEFLOW.
• Design production: Design production borefields, horizontal drains, and seepage cut-off trenches for open-pit dewatering.
• Supervise hydrogeological: Supervise hydrogeological pumping tests, packer tests, and piezometer installation programs.
• Formulate Managed: Formulate Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) reinjection schemes ensuring groundwater conservation.
• Liaise with: Liaise with state water regulators to negotiate groundwater extraction permits and compliance audits.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Iluka Resources, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Science (Hydrogeology / Geology) or Geological Engineering.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Hydrogeology, Geology, or Civil/Water Engineering.
• 6+ years experience in mining hydrogeology or groundwater consulting in Australia.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MODFLOW, Groundwater Vistas, or FEFLOW.
• Experience with environmental approvals and water licensing frameworks.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$145,000 – AU$178,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $145,000 – $178,000 + 11.5% super + corporate incentive plan.
