Role Mission & Operational Setting: Heavy Transport & Linehaul Freight
In your capacity as a Seasonal Casual – Truck Driver (Chullora) based in Chullora, you will execute essential operational deliverables that keep Australian supply chains fluid and dependable. Operating within our Heavy Transport & Linehaul Freight division, your work directly influences the speed, accuracy, and customer satisfaction experienced by households and commercial enterprises.

Key Responsibilities & Daily Operational Deliverables
While specific duties vary depending on facility requirements, rostered shift patterns, and customer volume peaks, core responsibilities for this position include:
- Safely loading/unloading your truck
- Completing your own daily vehicle safety check
- Driving our modern trucks between our operational centres and customers,
- Completing both deliveries and pick-ups
- Returning to our operational centres to unload your truck
- Working on a rotating roster, mixture of day, afternoon and nightshifts.
- Commencing from 14 September (induction date)
- Safety Leadership & Zero Harm: Proactively uphold Australia Post’s uncompromising safety standards, hazard reporting procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain meticulous care of postal items, scanning accuracy, and adherence to security and privacy guidelines governing domestic and international mail.
Candidate Profile, Licences & Selection Criteria
Australia Post evaluates candidates based on reliability, physical fitness, safety mindset, and positive teamwork. To excel in this role, applicants should demonstrate:
- You hold a relevant license (HR)
- You’re fit enough to load and unload parcels of all different shapes, sizes and weights frequently in and out of a truck up to 16kg. Our Drivers are on the go and require a high level of energy to support your busy day.
- You’re prepared to provide a driving history report, undergo an Australia Post specific pre-employment medical, drug/alcohol screening and national police checks.
