Role Mission & Operational Setting: Heavy Transport & Linehaul Freight

In your capacity as a Part Time – MR Bulk Truck Driver based in Hume, you will execute essential operational deliverables that keep Australian supply chains fluid and dependable. Operating within our Heavy Transport & Linehaul Freight division, your work directly influences the speed, accuracy, and customer satisfaction experienced by households and commercial enterprises.

Key Responsibilities & Daily Operational Deliverables

While specific duties vary depending on facility requirements, rostered shift patterns, and customer volume peaks, core responsibilities for this position include:

  • Safely loading your truck with freight for your deliveries with teammates at the facility.
  • Completing your own daily vehicle safety check.
  • Driving our modern trucks between our operational centres and customers, for deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Returning to our operational centres to unload pick-ups.
  • Working the following hours (12pm – 5pm) – Monday to Friday. Potential overtime is available as well (depending on business requirements)
  • You’re passionate about making a difference in the community.
  • Be safety-focused and understand the importance of chain of responsibility.
  • Safety Leadership & Zero Harm: Proactively uphold Australia Post’s uncompromising safety standards, hazard reporting procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain meticulous care of postal items, scanning accuracy, and adherence to security and privacy guidelines governing domestic and international mail.
