Suncorp is hiring a Senior Actuarial Analyst in Brisbane to develop generalized linear pricing models for home and motor insurance portfolios.

Suncorp’s Actuarial Pricing team in Brisbane is seeking a skilled Senior Actuarial Analyst to optimize risk pricing models across personal insurance portfolios.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

  • Build and: Build and calibrate statistical Generalized Linear Models (GLMs) using Emblem and Python.
  • Incorporate climate: Incorporate climate hazard and flood geospatial risk analytics into insurance premiums.
  • Conduct portfolio: Conduct portfolio loss ratio tracking, margin analysis, and competitive price monitoring.
  • Communicate technical: Communicate technical actuarial findings to underwriters and product leaders.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Suncorp Group, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

  • Mandatory Qualification: Actuarial Degree & Making Progress to FIAA.
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum 3-5 Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
  • Degree in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Making steady progress towards Fellow of the Actuaries Institute (FIAA).
  • Minimum 3 years experience in general insurance pricing or reserving.

  • Competitive Remuneration: AU$125,000 – AU$155,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
  • Remuneration $125,000 – $155,000 + performance bonus + superannuation.
