CommBank India is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer specialising in Cyber Security and External Attack Surface Management (EASM). Based at Manyata Embassy Business Park in Bangalore, you will investigate security exposures, assess externally observable digital risks, and deploy proactive defence capabilities across CommBank’s global footprint.

Core Responsibilities & Role Scope

In this position at Commonwealth Bank, your operational deliverables and core performance objectives include:

• External Attack Surface Management: Operate and configure enterprise exposure management platforms such as Assetnote to monitor external-facing assets.
• Security Exposure Analysis: Investigate newly discovered vulnerabilities, digital footprint leaks, and configuration weaknesses, forming defensible security conclusions.
• Remediation Orchestration: Collaborate with platform, network, and application teams across Australia and India to prioritize and remediate identified exposures.
• Automation & Integration: Develop automated ingestion workflows and Python scripts to integrate vulnerability feeds into enterprise risk dashboards.
• Threat Landscape Monitoring: Stay abreast of emerging threat actor tactics, reconnaissance methodologies, and external attack vectors.

Selection Criteria & Candidate Profile

CommBank evaluates candidates against demonstrated capabilities aligned with the requisition scope:

• Exposure & Vulnerability Expertise: Demonstrated background in external attack surface management (EASM), vulnerability management, or offensive security analysis.
• Tooling Proficiency: Practical experience working with vulnerability intelligence platforms (such as Assetnote) and threat intelligence feeds.
• Security & Cloud Fundamentals: Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), DNS records, certificate management, and web application security.
• Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience.
