Description
Laing O’Rourke is seeking a talented and safety-conscious Security Officer Mobile to join their project team in Shotts delivering critical civil and building infrastructure. As an integral team member, you will contribute directly to world-class engineering execution, ensuring exceptional delivery standards, operational safety, and continuous improvement across the site.
Laing O'Rourke, on behalf of Select Security, are looking for a team of Security Officers for one of our projects building a new hospital just outside Airdrie. Right now, we've got night security officer roles going, with 12-hour shifts ranging from 48-60 hours per week on a long-term basis.

Key Responsibilities & Operational Scope
- Safeguard personnel, plant, materials, and infrastructure assets across high-security construction compounds and remote workfaces.
- Conduct regular perimeter patrols, inspect perimeter fencing, security gates, CCTV surveillance, and access control points.
- Manage vehicle access, search procedures, delivery dockets, and visitor inductions in compliance with project security plans.
- Respond swiftly and calmly to security incidents, unauthorized intrusions, perimeter alarms, and emergency situations.
- Complete accurate daily security logbooks, incident reports, and liaise with local emergency services and client security teams.
Candidate Profile & Required Qualifications
- Valid SIA licence in either security guarding, door supervisor, or close protection
- UK driving licence
- Good communication skills, both written and spoken
- Someone who works well in a big security team and gets on with others on the project
- Strong focus on customer service
- A professional approach with good judgement and integrity
