Pilbara Minerals is currently recruiting an experienced and dedicated Manager Safety, Security and Emergency Services to join the team in Pilgangoora, Pilbara, WA, Australia. Operating on a 8:6, 4:3 FIFO roster from Perth, this role reports directly to the Head of Department and is responsible for delivering high-standard operational deliverables that underpin safe, continuous production.

Based at the world-class Pilgangoora lithium operation—the largest independent hard-rock lithium deposit globally—you will be an essential contributor to fixed plant reliability, mobile equipment availability, and metallurgical processing excellence powering the international battery and electric vehicle markets.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Operational Safety Strategy & Leadership: Safety, Security and Operational Leadership.
• Statutory Mines Safety Compliance: Deliver professional leadership and direction for the site Safety, Security and Emergency Services functions, setting clear priorities, accountabilities and service expectations that support safe, reliable and sustainable operations.
• Emergency Response & Crisis Preparedness: Partner with the Head of Department, General Manager, operational leaders, employees, contractors and key stakeholders to embed effective health, safety, security and emergency management practices into planning, execution and decision-making.
• Major Incident Investigation (ICAM): Preserve and service a visible and credible field presence, coaching leaders and teams to strengthen safety leadership, critical risk ownership, proactive reporting and workforce engagement.
• Security Protocols & Asset Protection: Deliver professional practical, risk-based and evidence-informed advice on material health, safety and security risks, regulatory obligations, operational controls and improvement priorities.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Pilbara Minerals, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Tertiary Degree in Occupational Health & Safety / Risk Management / Statutory Mining Competency
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 10+ Years of verified operational mining or industrial experience in Australia.
• Tertiary OHS Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, Emergency Management or a related discipline.
• Senior Mining Safety Leadership Record: Current Australian C-class driver licence.
• WA Statutory WHS Mining Regulations: Relevant statutory, site and role specific competencies required to work at a mining operation.
• ICAM Lead Investigator: Substantial senior health and safety leadership experience in a complex mining, minerals processing or comparable high-hazard operation.
• Emergency Management Certification: Demonstrated capability leading operational safety teams and influencing senior leaders, frontline leaders, employees and contractors.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$210,000 – AU$250,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%). (Salary structure is not officially stated by the employer; this represents the general industry standard for this position in Western Australia.)
