Lead underground grade control modeling, ore drive mapping, and stope reconciliation on high-grade Archaean gold deposits.

Northern Star Resources is looking for a Senior Underground Production Geologist based in Kalgoorlie (residential or 8:6 FIFO). You will lead daily underground geological operations, face mapping, diamond drill planning, and stope wireframing to optimize gold grade delivery to the processing mill.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Oversee underground: Oversee underground face mapping, channel sampling, and grade control diamond drilling programs.
• Build 3D: Build 3D wireframes and update short-term geological models using Leapfrog Geo and Vulcan.
• Perform daily: Perform daily ore spotting, digger clean-up checks, and stope dilution reconciliation.
• Supervise assay: Supervise assay laboratory QA/QC data streams ensuring precision and accuracy.
• Train and: Train and mentor graduate geologists in underground mapping and sampling techniques.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Northern Star Resources, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Science (Geology / Earth Sciences) & AusIMM Membership.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geology or Earth Science.
• 5+ years hard-rock underground production geology experience (gold preferred).
• Proficient in Leapfrog Geo, Datamine, or Maptek Vulcan.
• WA manual driver’s licence and current National Police Clearance.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$150,000 – AU$185,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $150,000 – $185,000 + 11.5% super + company production bonuses.
• Choice of FIFO from Perth (8:6) or residential package with Kalgoorlie housing subsidy.
