Operational Context: Technical Infrastructure & Facility Engineering

CBRE Technical Services delivers engineering reliability across commercial high-rises, research laboratories, manufacturing sites, and critical infrastructure. Engineers and technicians execute proactive planned preventative maintenance (PPM), building automation system (BAS) calibration, power factor correction, and mechanical equipment lifecycle overhauls, ensuring compliance with local building codes, OSHA standards, and environmental sustainability mandates.

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

In this capacity, your daily workflows and strategic contributions will center on the following core deliverables:

• Support detection-coverage assessments against the MITRE ATT&CK framework by gathering evidence of what each log source captures and documenting gaps.
• Maintain technical documentation: runbooks, configuration records and investigation notes.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, environmental (HSE), and regulatory statutory requirements across all operational activities.
• Prepare comprehensive reporting dashboards, executive briefing summaries, and asset condition documentation for client and internal stakeholders.

Candidate Profile & Experience Requirements

To qualify for the Cybersecurity Engineer position, candidates are evaluated based on their hands-on background, technical credentials, and operational competencies:

• Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years (36 months) of verified experience directly applicable to digital & technology/information technology or related operational disciplines.
• Conduct technical investigations into suspicious activity: unusual sign-ins, credential attacks, malware delivery, and suspicious network traffic. Document findings clearly and escalate confirmed incidents.
• Run indicator-of-compromise searches across network, identity, cloud and email logs when threat intelligence or an incident calls for it.
• Write and maintain scripts and integrations that automate repetitive security tasks.
• Work with network, identity, cloud and infrastructure teams to implement hardening changes and validate that fixes hold.
• Track vulnerability and threat intelligence relevant to the CBRE technology stack and help translate it into patch and detection priorities.
• Maintain technical documentation: runbooks, configuration records and investigation notes.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for security tooling and pipeline issues. [Confirm on-call expectations with hiring manager.]
• Three or more years in information security, IT infrastructure or a related technical role, with at least one year of hands-on security engineering or SOC experience.
• Technical & Analytical Aptitude: Familiarity with computerized enterprise management platforms, building telemetry, or financial modeling tools relevant to the specialization.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills with the demonstrated ability to articulate complex operational matters clearly to non-technical clients and executive teams.
