Inspect, certify, and maintain widebody Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A330 aircraft at the iconic Qantas Jet Base at Sydney Mascot Airport.

Qantas Engineering is seeking dedicated Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAME B1 or B2) to join our Line and Base Maintenance operations at the Qantas Jet Base in Mascot, Sydney. You will be responsible for line transit inspections, A-checks, defect troubleshooting, avionics certification, and engine maintenance, ensuring our international fleet maintains industry-leading airworthiness standards.

As a key member of the team at Qantas Airways in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Perform scheduled: Perform scheduled transit inspections, daily servicing, and line maintenance on widebody aircraft.
• Diagnose and: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex airframe, engine (GEnx, Trent 700), and avionics defect indications.
• Certify maintenance: Certify maintenance releases and airworthiness compliance under CASA Part 145 regulations.
• Coordinate with: Coordinate with Qantas Maintenance Operations Centre (MOC) to minimize aircraft on ground (AOG) departure delays.
• Uphold uncompromising: Uphold uncompromising aviation safety standards, human factors principles, and workshop safety protocols.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Qantas Airways, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: CASA B1.1 or B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License with B787 / A330 type ratings.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Current CASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (Category B1.1 or B2).
• Demonstrated type ratings on Boeing 787, Airbus A330, or Boeing 737NG.
• At least 5 years of post-licensure commercial airline line or base maintenance experience.
• Current Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and unrestricted NSW Driver’s License.
