Deliver compassionate paediatric acute medical, surgical, and oncology nursing for infants, children, and adolescents at Randwick.

Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our acute inpatient paediatric wards. In this rewarding role, you will care for infants and children recovering from complex medical admissions, general paediatric surgery, respiratory infections, and neurological conditions within a supportive family-centered environment.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Conduct age-appropriate: Conduct age-appropriate clinical assessments, recognizing paediatric deterioration using the Between the Flags system.
• Administer weight-based: Administer weight-based paediatric medications, intravenous antibiotics, and continuous hydration fluids.
• Manage post-operative: Manage post-operative surgical wound care, enteral nasogastric feeds, and oxygen therapy.
• Provide compassionate: Provide compassionate emotional reassurance and developmental support to children and their families.
• Collaborate with: Collaborate with paediatricians, allied health clinicians, and child life music/play therapists.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at NSW Health, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing & AHPRA Registration & Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 2-5 Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Current unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 2 years acute paediatric nursing experience in an Australian children’s hospital.
• Current Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$88,000 – AU$108,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Public Hospital Award salary $88,000 – $108,000 + 11.5% super + generous shift penalties.
