The Hills Private Hospital (Healthscope) is recruiting an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU / Recovery). You will manage patients emerging from general, regional, and neuroaxial anaesthesia, providing airway management, invasive blood pressure monitoring, and intravenous analgesia titration.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Manage patient: Manage patient airway emergence, endotracheal extubation support, and laryngeal mask airway (LMA) removal.
• Monitor hemodynamic: Monitor hemodynamic parameters, ECG arrhythmias, pulse oximetry, and arterial lines.
• Titrate IV: Titrate IV opioid analgesia and multimodal antiemetic therapies in accordance with hospital anaesthetic guidelines.
• Manage patient-controlled: Manage patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pumps, epidural infusions, and regional nerve block catheters.
• Assess readiness: Assess readiness for discharge to surgical wards utilizing modified Aldrete and Post-Anaesthetic Discharge Scoring (PADS).

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Healthscope, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing & Postgraduate Certificate in Perioperative / Anaesthetic / Critical Care Nursing.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Current unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care, Anaesthetics, or Perioperative Nursing.
• Minimum 4 years PACU recovery or ICU nursing experience.
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS 2) certification.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$98,000 – AU$118,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $98,000 – $118,000 + 11.5% super + shift allowances.
