PwC Australia’s Corporate & International Tax practice in Sydney is recruiting a Senior Tax Manager. In this client-facing advisory role, you will advise private equity funds, multinationals, and ASX-listed entities on landmark mergers, acquisitions, tax consolidation, and cross-border restructuring.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

  • Lead buy-side: Lead buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence for large-scale corporate and private equity transactions.
  • Structure tax-efficient: Structure tax-efficient acquisition and divestment vehicles under Australian tax law.
  • Analyze transfer: Analyze transfer pricing, thin capitalization, and foreign income tax offset (FITO) implications.
  • Draft ruling: Draft ruling applications, objection submissions, and engage with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
  • Lead, develop,: Lead, develop, and mentor teams of managers, senior associates, and graduate accountants.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at PwC Australia, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

  • Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Laws / Commerce & Chartered Accountants (CA) or CTA Accreditation.
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
  • Degree in Law, Commerce, or Accounting.
  • CA ANZ qualification, Master of Taxation, or Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) designation.
  • 6+ years corporate tax advisory experience with a Big 4 or national tier-1 firm.
  • Deep technical knowledge of the Income Tax Assessment Acts (ITAA 1936 & 1997).
