QBE Insurance is hiring a Senior Claims Specialist in Sydney to manage large and complex corporate public liability and property damage claims.

QBE Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Specialist to handle complex high-exposure commercial liability and casualty claims.

As a key member of the team at QBE Insurance in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Manage a: Manage a portfolio of complex commercial liability, property, and professional indemnity claims.
• Determine policy: Determine policy coverage and liability exposure, setting accurate reserves.
• Instruct and: Instruct and manage panel solicitors during disputed litigated proceedings and mediations.
• Negotiate cost-effective: Negotiate cost-effective claim resolutions and structured settlements.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at QBE Insurance, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: ANZIIF Senior Associate or Degree in Law / Business.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Minimum 5 years experience handling complex general liability claims in Australia.
• Strong knowledge of insurance law, tort law, and Insurance Contracts Act.
• ANZIIF Senior Associate qualification or Legal degree preferred.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$115,000 – AU$140,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Competitive salary $115,000 – $140,000 + 11.5% super + performance bonus.
