Coordinate end-to-end import and export ocean container shipping and air cargo logistics for commercial clients at Mainfreight Melbourne.

Mainfreight is seeking a proactive Air & Ocean Freight International Logistics Specialist to join our global freight team in Laverton North, Melbourne. You will manage sea freight (FCL/LCL) and air cargo shipments from origin booking through to final customs release and delivery, negotiating carrier space, coordinating with overseas branches, and delivering exceptional customer care.

As a key member of the team at Mainfreight Australia in Melbourne, VIC, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Manage end-to-end: Manage end-to-end international freight shipments using CargoWise (EDI Enterprise) forwarding software.
• Book container: Book container space with ocean shipping lines and reserve cargo space on international airline freighters.
• Prepare export: Prepare export shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, and Letters of Credit.
• Track shipment: Track shipment milestones, proactively resolving port congestion delays and customs examination hold-ups.
• Provide transparent: Provide transparent freight quotations, costings, and billing reconciliations for commercial importer accounts.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Mainfreight Australia, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Degree or Diploma in International Trade, Logistics, Freight Forwarding or Supply Chain.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 4+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in international air and ocean freight forwarding operations.
• Proficiency with CargoWise One (CW1) freight forwarding software suite.
• Thorough knowledge of international commercial terms (Incoterms 2020) and maritime shipping processes.
• Passionate customer-first attitude and alignment with Mainfreight’s team culture.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$115,000 – AU$135,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $115,000 – $135,000 + Mainfreight branch profit-share bonus scheme.
