Assess, structure, and recommend credit decisions for complex mid-market and enterprise commercial lending portfolios at Westpac.

Westpac Group is looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Credit Risk Analyst to join our Commercial Credit Approvals team at Westpac Place, Sydney. You will partner with commercial relationship bankers to analyze financial statements, assess debtor repayment capacity, structure syndicated debt facilities, and ensure portfolio resilience in line with APRA prudential standards.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Westpac Group, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

  • Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or Economics (CA/CPA or CFA desirable).
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
  • 5+ years of credit risk underwriting or commercial lending analysis experience in an Australian bank.
  • Demonstrated mastery of balance sheet, profit & loss, and dynamic discounted cash-flow modeling.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian corporate insolvency laws, security documentation, and PPSR registrations.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with senior commercial stakeholders.
