Medibank is seeking a Senior Strategic Procurement & Commercial Analyst to join our Group Procurement team in Melbourne. You will lead high-value competitive tenders (RFx), negotiate multi-million dollar software enterprise agreements and corporate services contracts, and deliver substantial cost efficiencies while mitigating supplier operational risks.

As a key member of the team at Medibank Private in Melbourne, VIC, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Lead end-to-end: Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing events across IT, digital health technologies, and corporate professional services.
• Negotiate commercial: Negotiate commercial terms, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing schedules to maximize total value.
• Conduct supplier: Conduct supplier risk assessments ensuring alignment with APRA CPS 234 and Modern Slavery legislative standards.
• Analyze historical: Analyze historical spend data, benchmark market rates, and formulate category management strategies.
• Manage executive: Manage executive supplier relationships and lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs).

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Medibank Private, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Law, Economics, or MCIPS accreditation.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 5+ years of strategic sourcing, commercial procurement, or vendor management experience.
• Demonstrated success negotiating large commercial contracts and enterprise SaaS agreements.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical capability with advanced Excel proficiency.
• MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification is highly regarded.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$130,000 – AU$155,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Remuneration $130,000 – $155,000 + company bonus.
