Brisbane Private Hospital (Healthscope) is recruiting an experienced Lead Perioperative Nurse specializing in Orthopaedic and Robotic Surgery. You will manage surgical instrumentation for Mako robotic joint replacements and complex spinal procedures, ensuring impeccable aseptic integrity and rapid theatre turnarounds.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Perform senior: Perform senior scrub and scout roles for complex joint arthroplasty and spinal fusion operations.
• Configure and: Configure and calibrate Mako robotic surgical arms, navigation trackers, and specialized power tools.
• Manage sterile: Manage sterile instrumentation tray counts conforming to ACORN perioperative standards.
• Coordinate prostheses: Coordinate prostheses implant consignment ordering with orthopaedic medical device representatives.
• Mentor theatre: Mentor theatre technicians, graduate nurses, and scrub-scout novices in sterile techniques.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Healthscope, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing & Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Current unconditional registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Postgraduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing.
• Minimum 4 years perioperative scrub/scout experience with strong orthopaedic exposure.
• Working knowledge of Stryker Mako or robotic surgical systems.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$96,000 – AU$118,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $96,000 – $118,000 + 11.5% super + lucrative on-call allowances.
