BHP Global Headquarters in Melbourne is appointing an Expatriate HR Consultant to manage international talent assignments across Australia and the Americas.

BHP’s Global Mobility team in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Expatriate HR Consultant to coordinate international transfers, expatriate compensation, and visa logistics.

As a key member of the team at BHP in Melbourne, VIC, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Manage international: Manage international assignment life cycles including assignment letters, tax equalization, and relocations.
• Coordinate with: Coordinate with corporate immigration counsel to secure Australian and overseas work visas.
• Advise executives: Advise executives on international cost-of-living adjustments and expatriate allowances.
• Ensure full: Ensure full compliance with global tax treaties and social security regulations.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at BHP, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Law, or Business.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 3-5 Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 3+ years experience in global mobility, corporate immigration, or expatriate tax consulting.
• Strong understanding of Australian immigration law (TSS 482 visas) and cross-border tax concepts.
• Outstanding cross-cultural communication and empathy.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$120,000 – AU$145,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $120,000 – $145,000 + performance bonus + superannuation.
