NAB Financial Crime Operations is appointing a Senior Forensic Accountant in Melbourne to investigate money laundering and complex financial fraud.
NAB’s Financial Crime Investigations team is seeking a Senior Forensic Accountant to conduct forensic investigations into money laundering, fraud, and illicit fund flows.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities
In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:
- Conduct complex: Conduct complex forensic financial analysis tracing illicit proceeds across banking accounts.
- Prepare detailed: Prepare detailed expert witness investigation reports for law enforcement and AUSTRAC.
- Utilize forensic: Utilize forensic data analytics to identify suspicious transaction patterns.
- Interview witnesses: Interview witnesses and subjects involved in complex internal and external fraud schemes.
Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience
To be successful in this position at National Australia Bank (NAB), candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:
- Mandatory Qualification: CA or CPA Qualified & Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
- Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
- CA or CPA qualification, with Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification highly desirable.
- Minimum 5 years experience in forensic accounting, fraud investigations, or law enforcement.
- Strong understanding of the AML/CTF Act and AUSTRAC regulatory obligations.

- Competitive Remuneration: AU$135,000 – AU$165,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
- Salary package $135,000 – $165,000 + performance bonus + super.
