Origin Energy is appointing a Renewable Energy Project Manager to deliver utility-scale solar farms and 200MW+ battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Origin Energy’s Future Energy team is seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Project Manager to lead development and construction of grid-scale solar and BESS assets.

As a key member of the team at Origin Energy in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Direct EPC: Direct EPC contractors through engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of solar and BESS projects.
• Manage AEMO: Manage AEMO grid connection processes (GPS compliance) and Network Service Provider agreements.
• Oversee project: Oversee project budget, financial model assumptions, and environmental planning approvals.
• Lead community: Lead community stakeholder engagement and First Nations consultation.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Origin Energy, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or Project Management.
• Minimum 5 years delivering utility-scale solar or battery energy storage projects in the National Electricity Market (NEM).
• Proven contract management experience with EPC and equipment supply agreements.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$155,000 – AU$190,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $155,000 – $190,000 + annual short-term incentive + super.
