Key Responsibilities & Operational Scope

• In this role you will lead a team of engineers while taking ownership of the design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of the products and platforms your team supports. You will work hands-on with code, guide technical decisions, mentor engineers and lead complex engineering initiatives across teams. You will also help build a high-performing and inclusive team culture that supports quality, reliability and continuous improvement.
• Architect, build, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency financial systems and cloud-native microservices.
• Drive technical design and development across critical banking platforms, trading execution systems, and data pipelines.
• Champion engineering best practices including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure as code.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, quantitative analysts, and business stakeholders to translate financial workflows into scalable code.
• Ensure system resilience, security hardening, and operational observability across production distributed architectures.

Candidate Profile & Required Qualifications

• Strong technical background in software engineering, ideally with Java.
• Proven ability to lead complex engineering initiatives and work effectively in collaborative teams.
• Experience building scalable, maintainable and high-performing web applications in an Agile environment.
• Computer science qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.
