Melbourne Airport is hiring a Terminal Operations & Passenger Experience Manager to lead terminal flow efficiency at Tullamarine. You will oversee operations across domestic and international terminals (T1-T4), coordinating with Australian Border Force (ABF), aviation security contractors, airline ground handlers, and retail tenants to reduce passenger wait times and elevate Airport Service Quality (ASQ) ratings.

As a key member of the team at Melbourne Airport in Melbourne, VIC, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Monitor real-time: Monitor real-time passenger congestion through check-in halls, security screening, and smart-gate customs.
• Oversee automated: Oversee automated baggage handling systems (BHS) performance, early bag storage, and baggage carousel allocation.
• Manage terminal: Manage terminal emergency response, evacuation wardens, and medical first-response incidents.
• Drive passenger: Drive passenger satisfaction initiatives based on ASQ benchmarks, improving accessibility, wayfinding, and amenities.
• Coordinate with: Coordinate with terminal building facilities managers to schedule maintenance outside peak travel banks.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Melbourne Airport, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Aviation, Hospitality, Business Management or Operations Research.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 6+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 6+ years of operational terminal management experience in major aviation, passenger rail, or high-volume transport hubs.
• Strong understanding of passenger flow dynamics, queue modeling, and airport security screening protocols.
• Degree in Aviation, Hospitality, Business, or Operations Management.
• Exceptional stakeholder negotiation and multi-agency crisis management capabilities.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$135,000 – AU$165,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Competitive salary ($135,000 – $165,000) + performance-based incentive bonus.
