Perform advanced adult transthoracic echocardiograms, dobutamine stress echos, and myocardial strain imaging in private cardiology suites.

Queensland Cardiology (Sonic Healthcare) is seeking a Senior Cardiac Sonographer to join our specialist team at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital in Spring Hill, Brisbane. You will perform high-standard adult transthoracic echos (TTE), assist cardiologists during transesophageal echos (TEE), and conduct exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Perform comprehensive: Perform comprehensive adult 2D, Doppler, and color flow transthoracic echocardiographic examinations.
• Execute global: Execute global longitudinal strain (GLS) myocardial deformation analysis using GE Vivid E95 ultrasound systems.
• Conduct treadmill: Conduct treadmill exercise and pharmacological dobutamine stress echocardiograms in collaboration with cardiologists.
• Assist cardiologists: Assist cardiologists with structural heart procedure guidance and 3D transesophageal echo (TEE).
• Generate preliminary: Generate preliminary clinical measurements and quantitative hemodynamic summaries in PACS.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Sonic Healthcare, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound & ASUM / ASAR Accredited Cardiac Sonographer.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Graduate Diploma or Master’s in Cardiac Ultrasound.
• Current accredited membership with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
• Minimum 4 years clinical echocardiography scanning experience in an Australian cardiology department.
• Demonstrated experience with GE EchoPAC or Philips ultrasound platforms.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$110,000 – AU$135,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $110,000 – $135,000 + 11.5% super + performance incentives.
• No routine weekend on-call commitments (Monday to Friday schedule).
