Fiona Stanley Hospital in Murdoch is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead patient flow and clinical excellence on the Acute Medical Assessment Unit.

South Metropolitan Health Service is looking for an energetic and strategic Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to take operational leadership of our 36-bed Acute Medical Assessment Unit (AMAU). You will drive efficient bed turnaround, clinical handover excellence, and maintain high standards of patient care.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Direct ward: Direct ward clinical operations, bed turnover, and multidisciplinary discharge coordination.
• Manage unit: Manage unit staffing rosters, operational budgets, and clinical supply expenditures.
• Foster positive: Foster positive patient safety culture, reviewing clinical incidents (Datix) and audit metrics.
• Provide clinical: Provide clinical coaching and professional development to staff nurses and graduate nurses.
• Collaborate with: Collaborate with Emergency Department leadership and medical consultants to streamline admission flows.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Fiona Stanley Hospital, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Master of Nursing / Health Administration & AHPRA Registration.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Current unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 5 years clinical nursing with demonstrated experience in ward management or ANUM roles.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Health Management or Clinical Leadership.
• Superior conflict resolution, human resource management, and emotional intelligence skills.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$128,000 – AU$146,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Executive salary package $128,000 – $146,000 + 11.5% super + management loading.
