The Royal Flying Doctor Service is appointing a Flight Nurse in Dubbo to deliver autonomous aeromedical emergency retrieval in turboprop aircraft.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (South Eastern Section) is recruiting a Flight Nurse based at our Dubbo aeromedical base. Operating aboard Beechcraft King Air aircraft, you will manage acute inter-hospital intensive care retrievals and remote outback primary medical emergencies.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Deliver autonomous: Deliver autonomous critical care nursing and resuscitation in pressurized aircraft environments.
• Stabilize and: Stabilize and manage critically ill trauma, medical, obstetric, and pediatric patients in flight.
• Operate transport: Operate transport ventilators, invasive arterial monitoring, and defibrillators in-flight.
• Collaborate with: Collaborate with RFDS Medical Officers and rural hospital clinicians during patient handovers.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Dual AHPRA Registered Nurse & Midwife + Critical Care Postgrad.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Current dual registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.
• Minimum 5 years critical care experience (Emergency Department, ICU, or Remote Primary Care).
• Postgraduate qualifications in Intensive Care, Emergency Nursing, or Aeromedical Retrieval.
• Demonstrated physical fitness and ability to work in aviation environments.

At Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), we understand that our people drive our achievements. An outstanding remuneration and wellbeing package is provided in line with Australian benchmarks:

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$115,000 – AU$138,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Package $115,000 – $138,000 + 11.5% super + flight duty allowances + full salary packaging.
