Canberra Hospital is hiring an Emergency Department Clinical Nurse Specialist to direct resuscitation and major trauma interventions in the ACT.

Canberra Health Services is seeking an accomplished Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Level-1 Trauma Emergency Department at Canberra Hospital. In this senior role, you will lead resuscitations, guide junior nurses, and deliver expert clinical care to patients presenting with critical medical emergencies.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Lead and: Lead and coordinate resuscitation room interventions for major adult and pediatric trauma.
• Perform advanced: Perform advanced emergency triage adhering to the Australasian Triage Scale.
• Provide clinical: Provide clinical mentorship, pre-hospital handover reception, and clinical debriefs.
• Participate in: Participate in emergency clinical audit, disaster response planning, and quality improvement.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Canberra Health Services, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing & Postgrad Certificate in Emergency Nursing.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Current unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 5 years recent acute emergency nursing experience.
• Postgraduate Certificate or Master’s degree in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing.
• Active Advanced Life Support (ALS-2) or TNCC certification.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$102,000 – AU$118,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Remuneration $102,000 – $118,000 + 11.5% super + ACT public health shift loading.
• ACT Government relocation allowances for interstate applicants.
