GHD is hiring a Senior Water Resources Engineer in Perth to model catchments, flood mitigation strategies, and urban drainage networks.

GHD’s Western Australia Water Resources team is seeking a Senior Water Resources & Flood Modelling Engineer in Perth to conduct hydraulic modeling and flood mitigation design.

As a key member of the team at GHD in Perth, WA, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Build and: Build and calibrate 1D and 2D hydraulic models using TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, and XP-RAFTS.
• Design surface: Design surface water drainage networks, retention basins, and WSUD systems.
• Conduct flood: Conduct flood risk assessments and author technical floodplain management studies.
• Process spatial: Process spatial geospatial data and prepare flood hazard mapping using ArcGIS.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at GHD, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor or Master of Civil / Environmental Engineering.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Bachelor Degree in Civil, Water, or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in hydrological analysis and 2D flood modeling.
• Expertise in TUFLOW and Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR 2019).

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$130,000 – AU$160,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Competitive salary package of $130,000 – $160,000 + profit-share bonus + super.
