McKenzie Group Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor (Level 1 Accredited) to join our growing Brisbane practice. You will oversee building regulatory assessments, issue building permits and development approvals, and provide high-level NCC/BCA consultancy on premier commercial, health, and residential developments across Queensland.

As a key member of the team at McKenzie Group Consulting in Brisbane, QLD, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Assess architectural: Assess architectural and structural design documents against the National Construction Code (NCC Volumes 1 & 2).
• Issue statutory: Issue statutory building approvals, Certificate of Classification, and Form 15/16 compliance notices.
• Review Performance: Review Performance Solutions in close collaboration with accredited fire safety engineers.
• Perform mandatory: Perform mandatory stage inspections on major high-rise construction sites.
• Represent the: Represent the firm in technical consultations with local municipal councils and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at McKenzie Group Consulting, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor or Graduate Diploma in Building Surveying & Level 1 Certifier Registration.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Degree or Graduate Diploma in Building Surveying.
• Current QBCC Building Certifier (Level 1) Licence or AIBS/RICS Level 1 accreditation.
• Minimum 5 years experience certifying complex Class 2-9 commercial buildings.
• Thorough mastery of the Queensland Building Act and Australian Standards.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$140,000 – AU$175,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Generous salary $140,000 – $175,000 + company car allowance + super.
