Develop performance-based fire engineering designs, CFD smoke simulations, and fire protection systems for major facilities.

AECOM’s Perth buildings team is recruiting a Senior Fire Safety Engineer. You will spearhead performance-based fire safety solutions, computational fluid dynamics (FDS) smoke modeling, and evacuation analysis for major airport terminals, commercial towers, and resource sector accommodation camps.

As a key member of the team at AECOM Australia in Perth, WA, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Develop holistic: Develop holistic Fire Engineering Briefs (FEB) and Fire Engineering Reports (FER) using Performance Solutions.
• Perform advanced: Perform advanced fire and smoke dispersion modeling using Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) and Pyrosim.
• Model occupant: Model occupant egress and evacuation times using Pathfinder software.
• Collaborate with: Collaborate with Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) to obtain regulatory concurrence.
• Provide site: Provide site inspections to verify installed fire suppression, sprinkler, and detection systems.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at AECOM Australia, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering & Accredited Fire Safety Engineer (C10 / NER).
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Fire Engineering).
• 5+ years fire safety engineering experience in Australia.
• Accredited Fire Safety Engineer (NER Fire Safety or WA registered building surveyor/engineer).
• Proficient in FDS, PyroSim, and Pathfinder.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$142,000 – AU$178,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Remuneration $142,000 – $178,000 + 11.5% super.
