Lead engineering design for master-planned residential communities, stormwater networks, and road infrastructure.

WSP is seeking a Lead Civil Design Engineer to guide urban land development projects across South East Queensland. Based in our vibrant Gold Coast office, you will oversee master-planned subdivision designs, stormwater drainage networks, and bulk earthworks models while mentoring a team of young engineers.

As a key member of the team at WSP Australia in Gold Coast, QLD, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Direct 12d: Direct 12d Model and Civil 3D design of roads, earthworks, sewer, and water reticulation.
• Perform hydrological: Perform hydrological and hydraulic modeling using DRAINS and TUFLOW for water sensitive urban design (WSUD).
• Liaise with: Liaise with local councils and water authorities to secure engineering plan approvals (OPW).
• Supervise civil: Supervise civil construction phases, conducting on-site engineering certification.
• Manage project: Manage project budgets, deliverable schedules, and client billing milestones.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at WSP Australia, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Civil Engineering & RPEQ / CPEng Registration.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
• 6+ years experience in civil design for land development in Australia.
• RPEQ registration (or eligibility to obtain promptly).
• High proficiency with 12d Model and DRAINS software.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$130,000 – AU$160,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $130,000 – $160,000 + super.
