Laing O’Rourke is appointing a Commercial Manager in Sydney to oversee head contract administration and procurement on mega rail projects.

Laing O’Rourke has an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to lead commercial governance on major infrastructure projects in Sydney.

As a key member of the team at Laing O’Rourke in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Lead the: Lead the commercial and quantity surveying team across packages valued over $250M.
• Oversee head: Oversee head contract administration, client progress claims, and variations.
• Structure and: Structure and execute strategic procurement trade packages.
• Prepare detailed: Prepare detailed Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR) and monthly financial reports.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Laing O’Rourke, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Business / Law.
• Minimum 8 years commercial experience within Tier 1 construction contractors in Australia.
• Extensive experience administering standard construction contracts (AS 4000, AS 2124).

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$170,000 – AU$210,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Executive salary $170,000 – $210,000 + performance bonus + superannuation.
