CommBank India is looking for a seasoned Staff Platform Engineer with 12+ years of experience in Cloud, Automation, and DevSecOps. Located at our state-of-the-art tech campus in Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore, you will architect resilient cloud platform foundations, define Infrastructure as Code standards, and ensure high availability across mission-critical banking workloads.

Core Responsibilities & Role Scope

In this position at Commonwealth Bank, your operational deliverables and core performance objectives include:

• Cloud Platform Architecture: Architect scalable, resilient, and secure multi-account cloud landing zones and container platforms on AWS.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Author and govern enterprise IaC modules using Terraform, AWS CDK, and CloudFormation following strict DevSecOps guardrails.
• Observability & Reliability Engineering: Implement comprehensive observability frameworks across Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk for distributed tracing and performance monitoring.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Design, validate, and simulate disaster recovery, backup/restore, and cross-region failover strategies.
• DevSecOps & Platform Automation: Streamline continuous delivery pipelines across GitHub and GitLab, embedding automated compliance and security scanning.

Selection Criteria & Candidate Profile

• Deep Platform & Cloud Background: 12+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering within enterprise cloud environments.
• IaC & Automation Mastery: Expert-level capabilities with Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab).
• Observability & Resiliency: Proven background implementing enterprise observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) and high-availability disaster recovery architectures.
• Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
