The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CommBank) is inviting applications for the position of Senior Platform Engineer (SAP Basis Hana) to join the Enterprise Services | SAP Platform Operations. The SAP Platform Operations team in Bangalore oversees the day-to-day operational health, patch management, and database performance of CommBank’s enterprise SAP landscape. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will maintain SAP Basis environments, monitor SAP HANA databases, perform routine system maintenance, and resolve production operational incidents.

Core Responsibilities & Technical Scope

In this position at Commonwealth Bank, your operational deliverables and core performance objectives include:

• Routine Platform Operations: Perform daily health checks, system monitoring, and background job maintenance across SAP production and non-production instances.
• SAP HANA DB Maintenance: Execute backup and restore procedures, monitor memory consumption, and apply HANA service packs and security patches.
• Transport Management & Upgrades: Manage transport requests via TMS, apply Support Package Stacks (SPS), and assist with technical system upgrades.
• Incident & Problem Management: Investigate and resolve platform errors, lock conflicts, and performance alerts following ITIL service management guidelines.

Selection Criteria & Candidate Profile

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
• SAP Basis Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration, system copying, and transport management.

• Operating System & Troubleshooting: Familiarity with enterprise Linux environments and automated system monitoring tools.
