Lead the structural design of signature post-tensioned concrete bridges, steel arch viaducts, and civil structures for major transport infrastructure at Aurecon.

Aurecon is seeking a Principal Bridge & Structural Design Engineer to join our Transportation and Structures team at 25 King Street, Brisbane (Australia’s tallest engineered timber commercial building). You will lead bridge design teams on mega transport bids and detailed design packages, perform complex structural analyses under AS 5100, and sign off as Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).

As a key member of the team at Aurecon in Brisbane, QLD, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Lead structural: Lead structural concept design, detailed analysis, and documentation for prestressed concrete and steel composite bridges.
• Execute finite: Execute finite element structural modeling and dynamic seismic/aerodynamic simulations utilizing Midas Civil and Space Gass.
• Certify bridge: Certify bridge engineering designs as RPEQ / CPEng, ensuring compliance with TMR (Queensland Department of Transport) standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary: Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces with geotechnical, highways, drainage, and constructability specialists.
• Lead technical: Lead technical client workshops and mentor structural engineers and drafters.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Aurecon, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering + Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng / RPEQ).
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 8+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 8+ years of dedicated bridge engineering design experience with a leading engineering consultancy.
• Current registration as RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland) and CPEng with Engineers Australia.
• Mastery of Australian Bridge Design Standard (AS 5100) and TMR design criteria.
• High-level technical problem-solving and client relationship leadership ability.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$170,000 – AU$205,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
