Aurecon Canberra is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical building services design for federal government, defense, and healthcare precinct clients. You will produce robust, energy-efficient power systems adhering to Australian Standards and Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF).

As a key member of the team at Aurecon in Canberra, ACT, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Design low-voltage: Design low-voltage power distribution, substations, standby generators, and UPS systems.
• Lead lighting: Lead lighting design and daylight harvesting simulations compliant with AS 1680 and NCC Section J.
• Coordinate cable: Coordinate cable sizing, fault level studies, and protection coordination using PowerCad.
• Coordinate BIM/Revit: Coordinate BIM/Revit models with mechanical, hydraulic, and fire engineering teams.
• Manage client: Manage client relationships and mentor junior electrical design drafters.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Aurecon, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Electrical Engineering & CPEng.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical).
• 5+ years consulting engineering experience in Australian building services.
• Australian Citizenship with eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1).
• Chartered status (CPEng) or registered professional engineer (RPEQ/NER).

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$138,000 – AU$172,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Remuneration $138,000 – $172,000 + 11.5% super.
