Ensure 100% uptime for Australia’s digital economy by operating and maintaining Tier IV mission-critical data centre facilities in Perth.

NEXTDC is hiring a Data Centre Operations Facilities Engineer for our state-of-the-art P2 data centre in Perth. You will be responsible for the continuous operation, maintenance, and monitoring of high-voltage electrical distribution, rotary and static UPS systems, backup diesel generators, and chilled water precision cooling environments.

As a key member of the team at NEXTDC in Perth, WA, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Monitor and: Monitor and manage critical facility equipment via Building Management Systems (BMS) and DCIM platforms.
• Coordinate and: Coordinate and oversee scheduled preventative maintenance of UPS systems, switchboards, generators, and chillers.
• Execute standard: Execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency response procedures (MOPs/EOPs) during utility outages.
• Conduct environmental: Conduct environmental audits, monitoring airflow, power usage effectiveness (PUE), and temperature thresholds.
• Supervise customer: Supervise customer equipment installations, rack space management, and structured cabling compliance.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at NEXTDC, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Trade qualification or tertiary degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 4+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 4+ years of experience in critical facilities engineering (Data Centres, Hospitals, Naval or Industrial power plants).
• Electrical or Mechanical trade license or engineering degree.
• Thorough knowledge of UPS power topologies, standby generators, and precision cooling systems.
• Ability to participate in a 24/7 rotating shift roster to maintain continuous site surveillance.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$125,000 – AU$150,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Competitive base salary ($125,000 – $150,000) + shift allowances and superannuation.
