Deploy, automate, and optimize sovereign cloud environments and hybrid virtualization clusters for government and tier-1 enterprise customers.

Macquarie Telecom Group is seeking a dedicated Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Sydney cloud operations centre. You will support hybrid multi-cloud environments spanning AWS, Microsoft Azure, and private VMware sovereign cloud zones, ensuring high availability, strict Australian data sovereignty compliance, and rapid provisioning through code.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Deploy and: Deploy and manage scalable cloud computing environments across AWS and Microsoft Azure platforms.
• Automate infrastructure: Automate infrastructure configuration, patch deployment, and resource provisioning using Terraform and Ansible.
• Manage private: Manage private sovereign cloud infrastructure hosted on enterprise VMware vSphere and vSAN stacks.
• Troubleshoot complex: Troubleshoot complex network routing, VPN tunnels, and storage performance issues in multi-tenant environments.
• Participate in: Participate in operational on-call rotations maintaining SLA compliance and high system availability.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Macquarie Telecom Group, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or AWS/Azure Certifications.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 4+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 4+ years of hands-on systems administration and cloud infrastructure deployment experience.
• Proven competency in both AWS and Microsoft Azure administration.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for infrastructure automation.
• Australian Citizenship with eligibility to obtain Australian Government Baseline or NV1 Security Clearance.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$135,000 – AU$165,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary package $135,000 – $165,000 + quarterly achievement bonuses.
