Deliver expert clinical nursing care, advanced mechanical ventilation, and ECMO life-support in Victoria’s premier private ICU.

Epworth Richmond is recruiting an accomplished Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for our 35-bed Intensive Care and Cardiac Care Unit. In this advanced clinical role, you will care for high-acuity cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgical trauma, and multi-organ failure patients, mentoring intermediate nurses and leading rapid response calls.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Manage complex: Manage complex invasive mechanical ventilation, high-frequency oscillatory modes, and weaning protocols.
• Operate Continuous: Operate Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT / Prismaflex) and extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
• Monitor central: Monitor central venous lines, pulmonary artery flotation catheters, and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitors.
• Serve as: Serve as Medical Emergency Team (MET) leader responding to hospital-wide acute clinical deterioration.
• Facilitate clinical: Facilitate clinical research trials and bedside clinical skills competencies for junior ICU staff.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Epworth HealthCare, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing & Postgraduate Certificate in Intensive Care Nursing.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Bachelor of Nursing with unrestricted AHPRA registration.
• Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in Critical Care / Intensive Care Nursing.
• Minimum 5 years recent ICU nursing experience in a tertiary or major private hospital.
• Proven leadership and advanced clinical coaching capability.

At Epworth HealthCare, we understand that our people drive our achievements. An outstanding remuneration and wellbeing package is provided in line with Australian benchmarks:

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$105,000 – AU$128,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $105,000 – $128,000 + 11.5% super + salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 tax-free.
