Monash University is recruiting a Senior Clinical Psychologist & Student Counselling Director to lead the University Health & Wellbeing service at the Clayton campus. You will manage a team of registered psychologists, clinical social workers, and mental health nurses delivering evidence-based therapy and critical incident response for a large student cohort.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Provide clinical: Provide clinical governance and supervision for multidisciplinary university psychological counselling teams.
• Deliver psychological: Deliver psychological assessments and evidence-based clinical interventions (CBT, DBT, ACT) for complex mental health cases.
• Lead campus: Lead campus critical incident responses, suicide risk management protocols, and psychological triage.
• Design university-wide: Design university-wide mental health prevention, resilience, and suicide prevention campaigns.
• Liaise with: Liaise with external tertiary psychiatric hospitals and community mental health networks.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Monash University, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Master or Doctorate of Clinical Psychology & Unrestricted AHPRA Psychologist Registration.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
• Full unconditional registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA with Clinical Psychology endorsement.
• AHPRA approved supervisor status (Board Approved Supervisor).
• Minimum 6 years clinical experience with significant exposure to youth, young adults, or university populations.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$135,000 – AU$165,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Remuneration $135,000 – $165,000 + 17% employer superannuation contribution.
