Monash University is seeking an experienced Senior Student Mental Health & Psychological Services Manager to lead clinical mental health operations at our Clayton campus in Melbourne. You will oversee a multidisciplinary team of registered clinical psychologists, counselors, and social workers, ensuring responsive clinical triage, crisis de-escalation, suicide prevention protocols, and mental health literacy.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Direct daily: Direct daily clinical counseling services, intake triage, and emergency psychological crisis intervention.
• Maintain clinical: Maintain clinical governance frameworks, confidentiality compliance (Health Records Act), and ethical case management.
• Lead critical: Lead critical incident debriefing following acute student trauma, psychological distress, or campus emergencies.
• Design proactive,: Design proactive, culturally competent mental health prevention programs for domestic and international student cohorts.
• Liaise with: Liaise with external acute psychiatric hospitals, headspace, and primary care mental health networks.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Monash University, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology + Current Unrestricted Registration with PsyBA (AHPRA).
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 6+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Current registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• 6+ years of clinical psychology experience with at least 3 years managing mental health teams in education or health services.
• Deep expertise in crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, and clinical supervision.
• Master’s or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$135,000 – AU$160,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Package $135,000 – $160,000 + 17% superannuation contributions.
