Lead event staging, banquet delivery, and operational logistics for major conferences, award galas, and arena entertainment.

The Star Gold Coast is looking for an experienced Senior Convention & Event Operations Manager to direct delivery in our multi-million dollar Event Centre. You will oversee operational execution for international summits, gala awards, exhibitions, and celebrity entertainment holding up to 2,300 guests.

As a key member of the team at Star Entertainment Group in Gold Coast, QLD, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Direct the: Direct the operational bump-in, live execution, and bump-out for major conventions and gala banquets.
• Coordinate with: Coordinate with audio-visual production, staging, styling, and culinary departments.
• Manage a: Manage a banquet casual workforce of up to 150 team members, enforcing luxury service standards.
• Ensure rigorous: Ensure rigorous compliance with Queensland fire safety codes, liquor licensing, and crowd management plans.
• Liaise directly: Liaise directly with high-profile corporate clients and professional conference organizers (PCOs).

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Star Entertainment Group, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Event Management, Hospitality, or Business Administration.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Degree in Event Management, Hospitality, or related discipline.
• 5+ years event operations leadership in a convention center, 5-star integrated resort, or arena.
• Demonstrated experience executing complex banquet food services for 1,000+ seated guests.
• Proven leadership under high-pressure live production conditions.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$130,000 – AU$160,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $130,000 – $160,000 + 11.5% super + performance bonus.
