TAFE NSW Wollongong is recruiting a full-time Electrotechnology Teacher to train the next generation of licensed electrical apprentices.

TAFE NSW is seeking an experienced, trade-qualified Electrician to teach Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician at our Wollongong campus.

As a key member of the team at TAFE NSW in Wollongong, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Deliver practical: Deliver practical workshop demonstrations and theoretical training on AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules.
• Conduct competency-based: Conduct competency-based assessments and practical testing for electrical apprentices.
• Maintain workshop: Maintain workshop safety, equipment testing, and ASQA educational compliance.
• Provide mentoring: Provide mentoring and support to diverse vocational students and apprentices.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at TAFE NSW, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Cert IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116/TAE40122) & Electrician Licence.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• NSW Qualified Supervisor Electrician Licence (or recognized electrical trade equivalent).
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122).
• Minimum 5 years post-trade electrical contracting experience.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$90,000 – AU$110,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $90,000 – $110,000 + 11.5% super + generous government leave provisions.
• 12 weeks paid vacation leave per year matching vocational academic calendar.

• Leave Entitlements: 4 weeks annual leave (with 17.5% annual leave loading where applicable) plus 10 days paid personal/carer’s leave.
