Westpac is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Manager with Delegated Lending Authority (DLA) to approve multi-million commercial loans in Sydney.

Westpac Commercial Credit Risk is recruiting a Senior Credit Risk Manager in Sydney to evaluate and sanction complex commercial credit proposals.

As a key member of the team at Westpac in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Exercise delegated: Exercise delegated lending authority to sanction commercial credit submissions up to $20M.
• Critically analyze: Critically analyze financial statements, cash flow forecasts, and debt serviceability.
• Assess counterparty: Assess counterparty risks, security structures, and covenants for mid-market borrowers.
• Partner with: Partner with frontline bankers to structure viable debt solutions within risk appetite.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Westpac, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Commerce, Finance, or CA / CFA.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Minimum 7 years experience in corporate or commercial credit underwriting.
• Previous experience holding a personal Delegated Lending Authority (DLA).
• CA, CPA, CFA, or Degree in Finance/Accounting.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$150,000 – AU$185,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Base salary $150,000 – $185,000 + annual bonus + superannuation.
