Wesfarmers is looking for an exceptional Corporate Development & M&A Financial Analyst to join our Group Corporate Development and Strategy team in Perth. Working directly with senior corporate executives, you will evaluate potential retail, health, and industrial acquisitions, conduct rigorous commercial and financial due diligence, build DCF and merger consequence models, and support transaction executions.

As a key member of the team at Wesfarmers in Perth, WA, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Build dynamic: Build dynamic three-statement financial models, discounted cash flow (DCF), and merger consequence models for potential M&A deals.
• Coordinate cross-functional: Coordinate cross-functional commercial, financial, tax, and legal due diligence workstreams.
• Conduct industry: Conduct industry research, competitor benchmarking, and macroeconomic landscape analyses.
• Prepare high-caliber: Prepare high-caliber investment memos and presentations for the Wesfarmers Board of Directors.
• Support post-merger: Support post-merger integration planning and monitor financial performance of acquired businesses.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Wesfarmers, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or Economics (CA / CFA qualification preferred).
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 4+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 4+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or Big 4 transaction services.
• Superior financial modeling and company valuation skillset with uncompromising attention to detail.
• Degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting (CFA or CA qualification highly regarded).
• Strong commercial curiosity, strategic thinking, and presentation abilities.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$140,000 – AU$170,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Lucrative compensation ($140,000 – $170,000) + Wesfarmers corporate performance bonus.
