Job Overview & Context

Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Acute Medical and Respiratory Inpatient team in a permanent part-time position, working 32 hours per week. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative acute care environment, providing high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse patient cohort. You’ll be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team that is committed to delivering exceptional clinical outcomes and positive patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
  • Collaborate with medical, nursing, allied health, and community care teams to provide coordinated care.
  • Advocate for patients and support informed healthcare decision-making.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management initiatives.
  • Support the development of students and less experienced team members.
  • Maintain clinical excellence through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical and respiratory nursing.
  • Recent acute care nursing experience within a hospital setting.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • A commitment to patient-centred care, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

Location & Shift Details
